House Smudging

Home & Moving

Ceremony has powerful healing and transformative potential, especially when it is designed around you and your loved ones. Moving can be a topsy-turvy time for people. Packing, sorting, and saying goodbye to familiar places is emotional and can sometimes be hard, even if you are excited about where you are going.

Closing Day

After you finish signing documents, or get your new keys, a home blessing in your new space can be a wonderful fresh start. We can do a spiritual cleansing or smudging process, or create an art piece together there, or do a wishbox ceremony to mark this momentous time in your life. Friends, family and neighbors can join us, or it can be a special, more private moment just for you.

Home Blessings

Welcoming ceremonies at the brand-new place can include saying personal words at the front door and throughout the space, doing "clearing" rituals, hanging a doorknocker or wreath or other symbol of your personalities “coming home,” sharing a festive potluck meal there with close family and friends, or planting a tree representing your “putting down roots.” Actively filling the empty space with well-wishers makes it come to life, and a relaxed intimate ceremony can happen way before you are ready for a formal housewarming party. Loved ones are thrilled to be a part of this new beginning for you!

Moving Ceremonies

Goodbye rituals support you as you let go of your old home and move joyfully into your new space. This can include gathering at the old house, lighting a candle or lantern to bring to the new place for continuity, spending a few moments together in each room sharing favorite memories of the time there, and ending with creating a special "home book" for the future.

I am happy to come to your closing day, or moving day, or gathering of friends and neighbors—or all of the above! This can also be a good time to create a Sharing Your Values document—a vision can be created into a beautiful art piece to frame and hang on the wall.
